Born in Hershey on November 16, 1950 and entered into eternal rest on July 13, 2022, Terry was one of identical twins born to the late Albert and Rosalba (Borroni) Weir. Terry graduated from Hershey High School and received his B.S. in Biology from Gettysburg College, and was in the first class to attend the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical School. Terry was an outstanding swimmer as were his brothers. He loved the environment, enjoyed travel and was an excellent photographer. Working as a landscaper he also found time to volunteer at the Hershey Gardens, the Recycling Center and the Memorial Tree Program. At his home he had two fig trees. Terry showed great generosity in giving away many saplings resulting in countless numbers of his trees growing throughout the area. Terry is survived by; sisters, Stephanie R. Sopcak and Denise Pettit; and brothers, Matthew A. Weir and Kevin Weir. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin brother, Greg and sister, Michelle Weir. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 11AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. The family will begin receiving guests at 10:30AM. Interment at the Hershey Cemetery will follow the mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Manada Conservancy, 113 East Main Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036.

June Novatnak, 91, of Hershey, formerly of Beaver Meadows, PA, passed away on July 11, 2022. She was born June 4, 1931, in Coxeville, PA, daughter of the late John Salko and Mary (Berish) Salko. June had owned June's Beauty Salon and later worked at Doctor's Choice Rehabilitation Clinic in Pottsville. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey. Among June's many qualities and talents was her great love and compassion for her family, friends, and church. June is survived by; daughter, Donna Nooney, grandson Shane Nooney; daughter-in-law Patricia Novatnak; grandchildren, Aleksandr (Lindsay) Novatnak, great-grandson Baylen Novatnak, Katrina (Ryan) Greenawalt; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Reese Greenawalt and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, George "Corky" Novatnak; and son, Dr. David G. Novatnak; son-in-law Francis J. Nooney; siblings Elmer Salko and John Salko Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 22 at 10:30 AM, in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey, PA 17033. Graveside services will follow in the Calvary Cemetery Chapel in Drums, PA, at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey or the American Heart Association.
Mary J. Butch, 74, of Hershey, recently passed away in her home. She was born in Hershey on October 13, 1947, the daughter of the late Joseph P Butch Sr. and Effie Croci Butch. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, James Butch, William Butch and Joseph Butch Jr.
Mary was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School and the former Harrisburg School of Nursing. She had been employed by the Commonwealth of PA, the former Elizabethtown Crippled Children’s Hospital, and in the office at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey, and long-time Hershey Bears Season Ticket Holder. Mary enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, reading, gardening, and going to the beach. She is survived by her sister in laws, Jean Butch, Jennifer Butch and Betty Butch; six nephews; Andrew, Anthony, James Jr., Joseph, Nicholas, and Ryan Butch; three nieces, Elizabeth Ryglicki, Stephanie Johnson, and Susan Forsyth; numerous great nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday July 20, 2022, at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey. Visitation will begin at 10:00am in the church. Bianchini, 69, of Hershey, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2022, surrounded by his family, at the Masonic Health Care Center in Elizabethtown. He was born March 9, 1953, in Harrisburg, son of the late Alvaro and Mary (Verroca) Bianchini. Thomas was a graduate of St. Francis University and had worked and retired from The Hershey Company. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Thomas is survived by; sister, Sandra Bianchini; brother, William Bianchini; sister, Carol (Matthew) Hoover; and nephew, Luke Hoover. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 11AM in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. There will be no viewing or visitation. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. Margaret J. Beatty, 76, of Harrisburg passed away on July 3, 2022 in the Capital Rehabilitation and Health Center.
She was born September 28, 1945 in Bay Shore, New York, the daughter of the late Christian and Margaret (Hartigan) Wolf. She earned her Bachelors Degree from SUNY Oneonta and her Masters Degree from Hofstra University. She had been a self employed piano teacher for many years. Margaret was the widow of John J. Beatty and is survived by her children, Christian Beatty of East Northport, NY and his wife Maile; Aron Beatty of Hershey, PA and his wife Diana; and Jeanine Beatty-Chadha of Hershey, PA and her husband Devesh. She is also survived by her five grandchildren. A private memorial mass was held at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Hershey. Interment will be private in Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 . Clement P. Fure, Jr., 86, of Hershey, died Friday, July 1, 2022 in Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
He was a graduate of Steelton High School Class of 1953 and studied Social Studies at the University of Oklahoma. Clement served 6 years in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired from the US Government USASAC, where he worked as a Systems Analyst Supervisor for the New Cumberland Army Depot for 33 years. He also served as a substitute houseparent for the Milton Hershey School. Clement was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was active in Cursillo Prison Ministry. Clem received a Heart Transplant in 1996 and served as a counselor for new Heart Transplant Recipients. Clem volunteered with young adults as a sponsor to Milton Hershey Students and was a Scout Master of St. Ann's Troop 104. He was a member of the Steelton Italian Club and Hershey Italian Lodge. Clem loved playing bocce, was a member of the HIL Bocce League and a Pennsylvania Senior Olympics Bocce State Champion. Clem loved spending time with his family and friends, especially at the family cabin. He enjoyed dancing, music, fishing, playing cards, telling stories and most of all laughing together. Clem was preceded in death by his parents, Clement, Sr., & Mabel Fure, his son, Anthony and his brother, Clarence. He is survived by his daughter, Doreen Fure-Fahringer, Hummelstown; son, Michael Fure (Denise) Hummelstown; 4 grandchildren, Andrew and Kelly Fahringer and Emma & Michael Fure; 3 brothers, Donald Fure (Caroline) Robert Fure (Cindy) & Michael Fure; two sisters, Carol Zimmerman (Lester) & Theresa Schlodynske; one sister-in-law, Josephine Fure; and the mother of his children, Julia Fure. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:30 am in St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey, with Rev. Al Sceski, Pastor, Celebrant. Burial at the conclusion of Mass will be in Hershey Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:30 am - 11:30 am in the church. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Oberlin. Louise Iovino, 89, of Hummelstown, passed away on June 23, 2022 in the Hershey Medical Center. She was born May 24, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Anthony and Filomena (DeStio) Iovino. Louise was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and was an active member of their Prayer Shawl Ministry. Louise is survived by; son, Jim (Chris) Mulvey of Hershey; daughter, Kathy (Tom Goldschmid) Leo of Vermont; son, Brian (Caroline) Mulvey of Jarrell, TX; eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren; and a brother, James Iovino of Ozone Park, NY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Harry Iovino and sister, Johanna Carillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11AM in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. The family will begin receiving guests at 10AM. Interment will follow in Grand View Memorial Park in Annville. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Hershey Food Bank and Community Outreach, Inc. P.O. Thomas Francis Cusack, 85, of Hershey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he later moved to the Hershey area after gaining employment with AMP until retiring in 1998 after almost thirty years of service. Tom is survived by his loving wife Patricia; children, Thomas, William and Trish; as well as his sister, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and countless friends. A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey, PA on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 11AM. Mary Ann Gaydos, 90, of Hershey, died Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Columbia Cottage, Palmyra.
Born in Ashley, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Rusnak Gaydos. Mary Ann graduated from Misericordia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics. She taught high schools in Penns Grove, N.J.; Hempstead, Long Island, N.Y.; and Hanover Twp. She received a master's degree and PhD in clothing and textiles from Penn State University and taught clothing and textiles at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania for 25 years. Mary Ann is a former member of several professional organizations and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church. She had many interests including the Hershey Symphony, Hershey Theatre and dining at several Hershey restaurants. She especially looked forward to the Rusnak reunions at Harveys Lake. Mary Ann is survived by her sisters, Joan Czarnecki, and Tina (Thomas) Lewandowski; nieces, Mary T, Peggy, Mary Jo, Monica and Meghan, and Beth, Debbie and Janet as well as nephews, Lee, Tom, Greg and Gary and Dennis, and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Helen and her husband, Leo; brother, Larry; brother-in-law, Jack Czarneck; nephew, Jerry Wojnar; and great-nephews, Andrew Donnald and Ryan Miskell. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joan of Arc Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey. The family will begin receiving guests at 10:30 a.m. Private interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Wilkes-Barre. He was born December 16, 1950, in Lancaster, son of the late Charles Robert and Gloria Ann (Caracciolo) Newkam. His parents raised Scott, his sister Charm and brother Keith in a home that instilled a strong work ethic and desire to serve others. Scott attended Valley Forge Military Academy, and was a graduate of Trinity High School, Mount Saint Mary's College, and Amos Tuck School of Dartmouth College. Mr. Newkam retired from Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company in 2006, where he served as President and CEO. During his 25-year career at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, Scott was a servant leader, always ensuring the mission of HE&R supported the financial stability, growth and development of Hershey, PA as a destination for all to enjoy. He cared deeply for each employee and that was demonstrated through his genuine interactions. His passion to support the mission of Milton and Catherine Hershey was the foundation of his vision while working at Hershey Entertainment and Resorts. After retirement, Scott continued his professional career, most recently serving on the boards of High Companies, Millers Mutual Group, and Mount Saint Mary's University. His passion for giving back to organizations that were important to him and his family are evident through the boards he served on in past years, including: BB&T Advisory Board; Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc.; Community Banks, Inc.; Dauphin Deposit & Trust Company Advisory Board; Team Pennsylvania (Co-Chairman); Pennsylvania Chamber of Business & Industry; Modern Transit Partnership; Capital Region Economic Development Corporation; AACA Antique Auto Museum; Elegance at Hershey; The Nativity School of Harrisburg; Harrisburg Area YMCA; American Cancer Society Pennsylvania Division; and Central Pennsylvania Multiple Sclerosis Society. As Scott slowed down in his professional life, he focused on the things he valued most; spending time with his family and friends, traveling with his loving wife, hunting with family and friends and his passion for classic cars. Scott is survived by his wife, Susan Joy (Knisley) Newkam; son, Justin Charles Newkam and his wife, Danielle Budash Newkam; daughter, Tara Newkam Valoczki and her husband, Stephen Tyler Valoczki; grandchildren, Tucker Stephen Valoczki, Taylor Anne Valoczki, Nicholas Scott Newkam and Taryn Newkam Valoczki; his sister Charmaine Morrissey, her husband Kevin and son Keith; and his brother Keith, his wife Eli and twins Jennifer and Kyle. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 3:00 PM in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave. in Hershey. There will be no visitation prior to the mass. The family will host a reception immediately following at the Hershey Country Club Picard Pavilion. The family specifically request no flowers, but rather memorial contributions be made to: Cocoa Packs, P.O. Box 613 , Hershey, PA 17033. Cocoa Packs represents the exact mission and values that Scott lived his life by, providing and serving others. Donations are directly used to provide packs to children filled with a variety of nutritious breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack items as well as additional services that enhance a child's overall well-being. |
