Raymonde D. Heacock, 84, of Harrisburg, passed away at home on January 10, 2014.
She was born August 30, 1929 in Dunkerque, France, daughter of the late Mederic and Lucienne Piers. Raymonde is survived by her husband, Frederick E. Heacock; her son Leroy M. and daughter in law Veronica Gaffner of Burke, VA and grandchildren, Ryan & Soleil Gaffner. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on, Friday, January 31, 2014 at 11 AM in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Alba J. DeAngelis of Hershey passed away at Columbia Cottage, Palmyra, on Monday, January 13, 2014.
She was born August 14, 1927 in Hershey, PA, daughter of the late Guillo & Mitilde Marcucci. Alba was a graduate of Hershey High School class of 1945. She graduated from Chestnut Hill School of Nursing in 1948. She was employed at the Hershey Hospital and also the Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg, Pa. Alba finished the remainder of her nursing career as senior nurse for Dr. Marion Insley, Jr., of Harrisburg. Alba was an active member the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Hershey, and the church's CCW and Areba Club. She was also an active member of the Hershey Community Chorus; the Hershey Garden Club; the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #10141; the Hershey Italian Lodge, and the Hershey Country Club; and the Nine Hole Club. Alba and her husband Samuel enjoyed many extended vacations together, including many ocean cruises throughout the world. She was an avid golfer and played golf weekly at the Hershey Country Club golf courses. In her spare time Alba enjoyed reading mystery novels. Alba loved happy times with friends and family and good fellowship with everyone she ever knew. Surviving are her husband, Samuel J. DeAngelis, of Traditions of Hershey; brother, Peter Marcucci of Hershey; three nieces, Susanne Wallace and Carol Ann Rogers, both of Florida, and Judy Pirchett of Harrisburg. Alba is also survived by five nephews, John Marcucci of Hershey, Brad Wallace and John Baranski, both of Florida, Brian Wallace of Louisiana, and Tony Baranski of Mississippi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Olga Sechrist. A visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2014, from 9:30 - 10:30 am, in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., of Hershey, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in her church at 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions may be made to St. Joan of Arc School, 359 W. She was retired from the U.S. Government Printing Office; and was a member of the Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Surviving are her sons, Kenneth F. of Norfolk, VA.; and Timothy P. of Jefferson, Md.; a daughter, Sister Mary Thomas, IHM of Harrisburg; 3 sisters: Elizabeth Drewencki, Muncy, PA.; Alfreda Siemianowski, Hershey and Theresa Beck, Newtown, PA.; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 18 at 10 am in her church at 359 W. Areba Avenue in Hershey. Ferraro, 85, of West Hanover Township, and formerly of South Plainfield, NJ, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014, in the M. S. Hershey Medical Center with family at his side. Born in Bayonne, NJ, on May 13, 1928, he was the son of the late Francis and Philomina Mazzouccolo Ferraro. John was a retired Italian bread baker. John was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey. He was a former member of the Teamsters Local 560, and the Knights of Columbus. John was an U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed gardening, raising pigeons, and cooking. John's passion was his family as he was a loving, giving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Margaret R. Lynch Ferraro, on October 22, 2010. John is survived by five daughters, Mary Evangelista wife of Robert, Lisa Mazzetta wife of Edward, Angela Onorato wife of David, Rita Lepping wife of Ken, and Gina DiCindio wife of Vince; three sons, John Ferraro husband of Cindy, Thomas Ferraro husband of Cathy, and Raymond Ferraro husband of Lorraine; seventeen grandchildren, Edward, Dana, Jaclynn, David, Nicole, Steven, Brianne, Alyssa, Julianna, Andrew, Matthew, Nicholas, Laura, Kenneth, Vincent, Maria, and Christina; two sisters, Marie Ferraro and Francis Niven; and one nephew, Richard Niven. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at 11:30 AM in St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey. Trageser, 75, of Hummelstown, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013, in McMurray at the home of her daughter. She was the widow of Gerard G. Trageser to whom she had been married for 43 years until his passing in September 2013.
Born December 2, 1938, in Bingham Canyon (Highland Boy) in Utah, she was a daughter of the late Juanita and Philip Ortega. Mrs. Trageser was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church and was active in social justice work within her parish. She enjoyed listening to music, teaching, and traveling and was gifted with her ability to sew and knit. Vivian especially loved being a grandmother and spending time with her friends and family. Surviving are her son, Philip Trageser; her daughter, Catherine O'Neill and her husband, Rob; 3 grandchildren, Marcus Black, Liam and Quinn O'Neill; her brother, Jimmy Valdez; 4 sisters, Mary Valdez, Christine Allen, Frances Ortega, Michaela Trujillo; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence, Nicholas and Louis Valdez, and Patrick Ortega and sisters, Katherine Chavez, Angela Ortega and Anita Vigil. Camasta, 83, of Hummelstown, passed away after a long and courageous battle on December 28, 2013 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
He was born July 19, 1930 in Elizabeth, NJ, son of Dominic and Grace (Pestrichella) Camasta. Alex had a life-long career serving our country, having served in the Air National Guard, Merchant Marines, and the Army during the Korean War. After marrying and moving to Central PA, he worked at Olmstead Air Force Base and later at the Mechanicsburg Navy Ships Parts Control Center as a Contracts Negotiator until retiring in 1985. Combined, he had more than 35 years of federal service. He and his wife were owners of Camasta's Drive In restaurant in Hummelstown from 1970 - 1980. Memberships include St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, the Hummelstown Optimist Club, and the New Jersey Club of Timber Pines in Spring Hill, FL. Above all, he was a devoted husband and intimately involved with his children's and grandchildren's lives and will be missed by all for his stories, advice, wit, and laughter. Alex is survived by his caring wife of 60 years, Tina (D'Ambrosio) Camasta; two daughters, Adrianne Kihm (Charles) of Middletown and Karen Willey (David) of Hummelstown; four sons, Mark, Esq., of Lyons, IL; Chris (Michele Knisely) and Keith (Teri Miller) both of Hummelstown; and Dr. Craig Camasta (Dr. Andrea Cass Camasta), of Marietta, GA; Grandchildren, Joseph Kihm (Chrissy) of Harrisburg; Dr. Carl Kihm of Atlanta, GA; Lindsey Stuckey (Robert), Anthony Camasta, Alexis and Genna Willey, all of Hummelstown; Michael and Marinna Camasta of Lyons, IL; and Dominic and Luca Camasta of Marietta, GA; and Great Grandchildren, Nathan and Kyle Stuckey of Hummelstown. He is also survived by two sisters: Mary Lima of Ocala, FL and Ann Mullen of Cranford, NJ, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Spinner, former chef/owner of Spinner's Inn & Restaurant died Christmas Day, he was 86.
The landmark Chocolate Avenue business in Hershey included both an inn and restaurant. The restaurant was originally known as Spinner's Parisian when opened by Joe's father in 1947. Joe, along with his wife Pat, operated Spinner's for 50 years until they retired in 1997. Enlisting in the Army after graduation from Hershey High School in 1944, Joe attained the rank of Sergeant in the Ninth Traffic Regiment, Third Army and was an observer to the Nuremberg Trials, most notable for the prosecution of prominent members of the political, military, and economic leadership of Nazi Germany. As a teenager, Joe worked as bellman and was once a caddie for Ben Hogan at the Hotel Hershey. Joe lived most of his life in Hershey, moving from Montclair, NJ with his family at the age of 3 in 1930. Known as someone who was never without a joke to tell, Joe was well known in the community and belonged to numerous organizations, including: SKOL International, PA Restaurant Association, Knights of Columbus (4th Degree), Hershey Historical Society and St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church. Joe was a skilled amateur cartoonist, and often produced cartoons for publication in his neighborhood association paper. Additionally, Joe enjoyed travel, coin and stamp collecting, reading and sports. Joe was predeceased by his father, William Spinner and his mother Isabella Smyth Spinner. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pat Spinner and their 5 children, Patrice (Philip) Young of Cornwall; Ann Spinner of Hershey; William (Catherine) Spinner of Larchmont, NY; Kathleen (Michael) Greenblatt of Lancaster; and Cynthia (Mark) Rice of Palmyra. Although known simply as Joe to most who knew him, as a devoted family man and grandfather, Joe was also affectionately known as Papa Joe, PePa, & Grandpa to 16 grandchildren: Madeline, Rebecca, Alex, Joseph, Hannah, Rebecca, Genevieve, Christina, Daniel, Alexander, Jayson, Megan, Alessandra, Eric, Caroline and Katarina. Friends will be received on Monday, December 30th from 9:00 AM till 11:30 AM in the Hoover Funeral Home, Rt. 422 and Lucy Ave., Hershey followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Joan of Arc Church, 359, W. Areba Ave., Hershey at 12 noon. Interment will be private in the Hershey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice or the Sacred Heart of Jesus Building Fund. Helen Morelli, 90, of Hershey passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 in the Harrisburg Hospital.
She was born October 28, 1923 in Goriano Sicoli, Italy, a daughter of the late Domenic and Elizabeth (Colanira) Cifani. Mrs. Morelli was an active member of the St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey. She enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening. She was a loving wife and mother whose life revolved around her family. Surviving are her daughters, Rosanne (William) Claypoole of Hershey and Jeanne Morelli of Hershey; a sister, Joan Cifani of Parma, OH,; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emily Claypoole of Hershey, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Oswald "Ozzie" Morelli, 1 brother and 1 sister. There will be no viewing. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her church on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 1 pm. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. Pronio, 89,of Hershey passed away on November 21, 2013 in the Pinnacle Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
She was born January 2, 1924 in Desenzano del Garda, Italy. Lidia was a retired employee of the PA State Police Training Academy in Hershey and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church. Surviving is her son, Claudio A. Pronio and daughter in law, Darla, as well as numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo "Fred" Pronio. Her life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 25th, at 2:00 pm in her church at 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Inurnment will be in Italy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 3544 N Progress Ave Harrisburg, PA 17110. Lucy M. Heisey (nee: Lucia Massimina Simonetti), 80, of Hershey passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 7, 1933 in Hershey, a daughter of the late Emidio and Assunta (Veronesi) Simonetti. Lucy was a graduate of Hershey High School. She retired from St. Joan of Arc School in Hershey, where she worked in the cafeteria, and worked many years for HERCO. She was an avid bingo player and loved to take day trips to Atlantic City, N.J.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Raymond Heisey Sr.; her sisters, Erma Hurley and Mary Simonetti; and her brothers, Louis and Geno Simonetti. Surviving are her three children; daughter, Susan Miller of Hershey; and sons, Raymond Heisey Jr. and wife Rachael of Overland Park, Kansas, and Brian Heisey and wife Missie of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren, Christi (Miller) Eckert, Nicole Miller, Amanda Heisey, Kacey Heisey and Benjamin Heisey; two great grandsons, Bailey and Blayke Eckert. Hospice of Central Pennsylvania provided compassionate and professional care for Lucy for many years. A viewing will be held Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. in the Hoover Funeral Home in Hershey followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey, Interment will be in the Grandview Memorial Park, Annville, Pa.
