Pauline, 84, of Hershey died at home and surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 3, 2015. Pauline's survivors include her three daughters: JoAnn Pantages, Patricia Cline, Natalie Murphy; her six grandchildren; and her two brothers: Joseph and Louis Slakoper. You may remember Pauline from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
All are welcome to join Pauline's family for her viewing at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory and at her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Wayne O. Foust, 74, of Hershey, passed away on August 10, 2015. He was born September 26, 1940 in Harrisburg, a son of the late Lyman and Dorothy (Kling) Foust.
Wayne was a 1959 graduate of Hershey High School. He excelled as a rising baseball player, pitching for the 1958 American Legion State All-Star Team at Connie Mack Stadium in Philadelphia. Wayne was a retired manager at H.B. Reese Candy Company, where he helped facilitate the acquisition of Kit-Kat. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fly-fishing, hunting, and archery. Surviving are his wife, Pamela M. (Verrazzani) Foust; daughters, Jilian M. Treadway of Hershey and Jessica A. Foust of Philadelphia; two grandsons, Tanner & Tyler Treadway both of Hershey; brother, Larry Foust and wife, Donna of Palmyra; mother-in-law, Amelia (Rossi) Verrazzani of Hershey; sister-in-law, Lorraine Reese and husband, Scott of Hershey; brother-in-law, John Verrazzani and wife, Barb of New Cumberland; and many nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15th at 11:00 am in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Hershey. Visitation will be from 9:30am until time of service. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. Tom was born in Englewood, NJ, to the late Thomas Pritchard II and Lucy Ayvad of Lakewood, NJ. He was an Adjunct Professor at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Dept. of Neural & Behavioral Sciences.
Tom was a loving husband and a proud father and grandfather. He was passionate about tech diving, fast sports cars, and enjoyed his grandchildren and watching their sports. Surviving are his wife of 42 years Christine; his children Michael (Cristina), David (Michelle), and Brian (Bo); and his grandchildren, AJ (Andrew), Brody, Brianna, Jude, Trey, and Chase. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, August 10th, at 12:00 noon in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Avenue, Hershey PA 17033. He was born May 4, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY. Donald served in the military with the First Calvary during the Korean War. He spent 37 years with Westinghouse Electric Corporation and retired as General Manager of the Research & Development Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Fox is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Louise; daughter Kathy Setlock; and three sons, Keith, Brian and Kevin Fox; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Church on Monday, July 20th at 11:00 am. There will be no viewing or visitation. Private interment will take place in the Hershey Cemetery. He was born on February 15, 1920 in Semproniano, (Grosseto), Italy, son of the late Ulisse and Ermenegilda Passalacqua. Ugo retired from AMP, Incorporated where he was a Tool & Die Maker. He had developed many prototypes over 30 years with the company. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church of Hershey, their Areba Club, and the Hershey Italian Lodge. Mr. Passalacqua was an Italian Army Veteran during WWII, was captured in Lybia as part of the 203rd Regiment Artillery, and was a POW for 6 years in India. Ugo was dedicated to his family, was proud to be an Italian-American, and greatly enjoyed living his life in Hershey, Pennsylvania as a citizen of the United States of America. Mr. Passalacqua is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Diva (DiClemente) Passalacqua; his daughter, Rita P. (Joseph) Acri of Enola; granddaughters, Joanna A. (Gregory) Burrows of Mechanicsburg, and Jeannine T. (Timothy) Czekaj of Harrisburg; great-grandsons, Jeffrey J. Czekaj and Joseph W. Burrows; Brother-In-Law, Donald J. DiClemente; Sister-In-Law, Frances N. DiClemente; nephews, Thomas J. (Susan) DiClemente of Hummelstown, Gary J. (Lori) DiClemente of Hershey, Mario (Anelida) Zammarchi of Semproniano, Italy ; and nieces, Diane D. (Gregory) Brockman of Boiling Springs, Donna D. (Kevin) Campisi of Mechanicsburg, Susan D. Arntz, 66, of Elizabethtown, passed away on June 11, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born July 18, 1948 in Seattle, WA, son of the late William and Genevieve (Connelly) Arntz.
John worked in the telecommunications industry for his entire career at companies including D&E Communications, AIM Telephones, and ITT Business Communications. He held various positions ranging from Installation Technician to corporate management roles. John retired as Operations Manager for D&E Communications. John had a great passion for music and played both the piano and organ in various bands throughout his life. He could bring a smile to anyone's face with his songs and his good nature. In addition to his love for music, he loved street rods and could name the year, make and model of any classic car at a quick glance. John was a true family man. He was a devoted husband and a loving father of two. John is survived by; his wife of 28 years, Madonna (Downes) Arntz of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Stephanie N. Arntz and her fiancé Daniel Sheppard of Elizabethtown, and Kimberly P. Arntz and her fiancé Bryan Biertempfel of Middletown; siblings, Mary Whitehouse of Baltimore, Maryland, Eileen LaGreca of Fairfax, Virginia, Jean Bonner of Fairfax, Virginia, and Tim Arntz of Tucson, Arizona; and several in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Sweet and kind-hearted, Lily held various positions with the former Cocoa Inn and The Hershey Company and had many creative gifts. She enjoyed reading, drawing, and knitting and was a talented seamstress. Her happiest times were those spent with her family and friends. Lily is survived by her sister, Sister M. Salvatoris, D.M. (Capitani) of Hershey as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jessie Macomber Grab. She was married 37 years to Clyde B. Metzler. In her earlier years, Jeanine worked at the former RCA, Lancaster. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey. Surviving, in addition to her husband, is a sister, Audrey, wife of James R. Hecht of Manheim and three nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Richard Catholic Church, 110 N. Oak St., Manheim, on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. Castelli, 92, a lifelong resident of Hershey, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015 in the Masonic Health Care Center in Elizabethtown. She was born October 2, 1922 in Hershey, the daughter of the late Serafino and Carolina (Vieli) Castelli. Phil was a graduate of Hershey High School and a retired employee of the Hershey Chocolate Company with 47 years of service.
"Aunt Phil" devoted her life to serving others. She loved to travel, crochet, and bake. She was also an excellent cook and blessed her loved ones with delicious meals over the years. Her greatest love was spending time with her extended family and friends. Phil was a member of the St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey where she sang in the Resurrection Choir; was Treasurer of the Areba Club, and belonged to the Legion of Mary. She was member of the Hershey Italian Lodge and past President of its Auxiliary. She served many years as Judge of Elections for the Derry Twp. 3rd Precinct and volunteered for the Hershey Ambulance Service, and the Hershey Medical Center. Surviving are 14 nieces & nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 7 older siblings: Emilia, Laura, Umberto, Dionisio, Sestilia, Jane, Josephine, and her niece Tina DeLuce. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 11:00am in her church. Visitation will be from 9:00am until 10:30am in the Hoover Funeral Home in Hershey. Ferguson Sr., 82, of Hershey, PA died unexpectedly in Scranton, PA on May 24 2015.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Murray) Ferguson and was a 1950 graduate of St. Paul's High School. He had attended his 65th class reunion on the day he died. Frank graduated from The University of Scranton and did graduate work at Columbia University, NY. He served in the US Army as a Master Sergeant in Korea for 3 years. Frank retired from the PA Turnpike Commission, having worked 25 yrs. as a systems analyst. One of his proudest accomplishments was establishing the Area M Special Olympics swim team at the Cocoa Avenue Plaza in Hershey, PA. He was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joan of Arc Parish in Hershey, serving the homebound. He also coordinated the GED test for OIC for the past 6 years and was a Democrat Committee person in Derry Township and had served on the State Committee. Surviving are: his wife Marilyn R. (Moran); three sons, Frank (Miki) of Lebanon, OH, Michael (Lindsay) of Bardstown, KY and Kevin (Jennifer) of Hershey, PA; a daughter, Maureen Goodwin, Jupiter, FL; 5 grandchildren, Bridget and Darby Goodwin of Jupiter, FL, Kiara Ferguson of Hershey PA, Mika and Liku Ferguson of Lebanon, OH. Survived also by two sisters, Marie Pedersen of Chantilly, VA, and Carolyn Malinowski of Mantaloking, NJ. He was predeceased by his brother, Jack. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00PM on Monday, June 1st at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA with the Rev. Philip Burger as celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Visitation will be from 6-9 pm on Sunday May 31st and from 10:30-11:30 on Monday, June 1st at the Hoover Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Rt. 422 and Lucy Ave., Hershey, PA.
