We are sad to announce that on January 9, 2023, at the age of 92, Elizabeth Zelenak of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, born in Windber, Pennsylvania passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Elizabeth Zelenak to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Michael Koshute and Mary Knapp Koshute; her husband Cyril A. Zelenak; her daughters, Elizabeth Ann and Susan; and her siblings, Michael, John, Joseph, George, Andrew and Mary Yankowsky. She is survived by : her children, Stephen Zelenak of Hummelstown, Thomas M. Zelenak (Constance L. Speraw) and Janice M. Turchin (Glen R. Turchin, Sr.) of Windermere, FL; and her grandchildren, Megan M. Zelenak of Palmyra, Sarah E. Turchin of Windermere, FL, Glen R. Turchin, Jr. (Jaclyn) of Windermere, FL and Matthew E. Turchin of Windermere, FL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Friday, January 13th 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc. (114 W Main St, Hummelstown, PA 17036). A mass of christian burial was held on Friday, January 13th 2023 at 11:30 AM at the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church (359 W Areba Ave, Hershey, PA 17033). A burial was held on Friday, January 13th 2023 at the Hershey Cemetery (325 Laudermilch Rd, Hershey, PA 17033). Mary Helen Curtin, 92, of Londonderry Village and formerly of Hershey, passed away on January 9, 2023 in the Hershey Medical Center. She was born May 29, 1930 in the Pittsburgh suburb of Swissvale and was the daughter of the late Paul and Marion (Cupillari) Marcocci. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Curtin in 2014 and her brother, Gerald Marcocci in 2019.
Mary was a 1947 graduate of Hershey High School and received her RN certification from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Lancaster. She had been a family nurse in Hershey for the late Dr. Howard Stauffer until 1958. She would later join the dentistry staff of Dr. Edward Lewis. Mary was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey and also had volunteered at the gift shop at the Hershey Medical Center. Mary is survived by her children, Monica (Robert) Reese, Dr. Paul (MaryAnn)Curtin, Kevin (Kelly) Curtin, and Dr. Sean (Yolanda)Curtin; seven grandchildren, Shannon (Reese) Buckley, Kelly (Reese) Hall, Abigail Curtin, Patrick Curtin, Calvin Curtin, Matthew Curtin, and Riley Curtin; and six great grandchildren, Michael Buckley, Mary Buckley, Paul Buckley, Grace Buckley, J. Bennett Hall, and Hudson Hall; as well as her brother, Carl Marcocci. A visitation will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 10:am - 11am in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11am. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to her church or the Benevolent Fund at Londonderry Village in Palmyra. Janet H. Polto of Hershey, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on December 26, 2022. Born January 1, 1938 in Downingtown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (DiObilda) Fazzini. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marianne Fazzini Smith and her husband of 63 years, John A. Polto.
Janet was a 1955 graduate of Downingtown High School. Immediately after graduation she worked for G.O. Carlson, and later from her home at Beloit Credit Union. She became the Office Manager for Lukens Steel Company Store, where she remained until they moved to Hershey. In Hershey she found employment at the Hershey Federal Credit Union where she worked as both teller and bookkeeper. Janet was a very active member of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Hershey. She served as Treasurer of the CCW for over 20 years. She also served as Treasurer of the Areba Club of Hershey. But Janet’s greatest joy was her family, whom she enjoyed cooking and caring for. Janet is survived by five children: Therese Valente (Frank) of Gap, PA; Janice Little (Jody) of San Antonio, TX; Maria Martin (Paul) of Jacksonville, FL; Andrea Bennett (Steve) of Hershey, PA and J. Damian Polto, also of Hershey, PA She is survived by nine grandchildren: Jamie (Dave), Jana, Joel (Amy), Daniel (Mindy), Anthony (Kristin), Frankie, Nicole, Stephen (Elena) and Jennifer (Sean) and thirteen greatgrandchildren: Nicholas, Joshua, Emily, Avery, Peyton, Olivia, Isabella, Giuliana, Caterina, Ariella, Alissandra, Giovanni and Andrew Joseph, a/k/a AJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA. Interment will be private in the Hershey Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday, January 2nd, 2023 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Hoover Funeral Home and Crematory in Hershey. She was born July 4, 1926 in Hershey, a daughter of the late Natale and Elisa (Pelaferri) Camacci. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tony Wise; brother, Aldo Camacci and sister, Antonette Peffley. Julia is survived by her son, Edward Stuck and his wife, Mary Jane of Palmyra; grandsons, Gregory Stuck (Amy Anderson) of Mt. Joy and Douglas Stuck (Deborah) of Leesburg, VA; three great grandchildren, Emily, Mason and Eve Stuck; also surviving is her brother, Peter Camacci of Hershey. Julia retired from the Hershey Company after 44 years of service, enjoyed traveling, crocheting and was an avid reader. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Hershey where there will be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Interment will follow in the Hershey Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30am until time of mass at the church. Dobroski of Pittsburgh; her grandchildren, Sarah Gladd of Pittsburgh, Darren, Jason Rauck of Texas, Garrett Rauck of Pittsburgh, Tony Menginie (Amanda) of Etters, Christina Foultz (Corey) of Lewisberry, Gwen Zander (Paul) of Hummelstown, Elizabeth Hauck of Hummelstown, Colbe Herr of Florida, Kiersten Herr of Vancouver, Madison S. Hart of New York City, Kaeli E. Hart of New York City and Pierce R. Hart of Camp Hill; and her great grandchildren, Tyler Bruder, Emma Menginie, Harper Foultz, Arden Zander and Mary. She is also survived by extended family and caring friends. Tressa Ercole, 87, of Hershey, PA, and most recently of West Chester, PA, died on November 14, 2022. Tressa was born in Windber, PA on February 4, 1935. She is the widow of Tony Ercole, the love of her life, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage, before he passed in December 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Teressa (Hughes) Baughman, sister Barbara Holovka, and brother Charles Baughman. Tressa loved nothing more than her family. Tressa is survived by her five children, "four sons and a daughter" as she liked to say, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren: Charles (Courtney) of Philadelphia and children AJ, Caroline, Nick; Michael (Karen) of Fairfax Station,Va, and their daughter Kelly McMillan and husband Robbie of Nokesville, Va; Gregg (Shannon) of West Chester and children Luke, Jackson, Sloane; Eric, and partner Brian Williams of Florida; daughter Lynne (Rich Edwards) of Hershey and children Scott and Tim, and three great grandchildren Deegan, Declan, and Dylan McMillan. Tressa was a 1953 graduate of Windber Area High School, and a 1957 graduate of Juniata College with a dual major in English and History. She became an English teacher, and taught for more than 20 years at the Palmyra Area Middle School. Tressa was proud to be part of the first Middle School Outdoor Education program. Tressa was always cheering on her children in their many events, and later in life, she cheered just as enthusiastically for her grandchildren. She had an uncanny ability to chat through an entire game, and still know the correct score and status of the game. Tressa was a people-person, who loved talking with others and making friends wherever she went. The Ercole Family would like to thank the staff of Barclay Friends Senior Living, and Willow Tree Hospice for their care and kindness while Tressa suffered through dementia for the past few years. Tressa was a devout member of St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey, for more than 50 years. Funeral Mass will be held on November 26, 2022, at 11:00am in her church at 359 W. Lucy J. Cavrich, 90, of Hershey, passed away on November 11, 2022 in the Hershey Medical Center.
She was born April 12, 1932 in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late Phillip and Angela (Inero) Calla. Lucy was a 1950 graduate of John Harris High School. She retired as a Legal Assistant from the Commonwealth of PA. Lucy is survived by her sister, Mary Bowker; her Aunt, Nancy Fulginiti; nephews, Stephen Bowker, Phil Calla, Joseph Calla, David Knepp and her niece, Lisa Pine and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Cavrich; sisters, Minnie Calla, Rose Martini, Angie Bracale, Helen Schaffhauser and her brother, Phillip Calla. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 12:30pm in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Ronald Roy Duquette, 90, of Hershey, PA, passed away on Nov. 8, 2022. Born in Ludlow, MA on Oct. 12, 1932 to the late John B. Duquette and Eldea (Gaudreau) Duquette, he grew up in Springfield, MA and graduated from Classical HS and AIC (BS in Accounting). He joined the Air Force, was stationed in Texas, and married his high school sweetheart Martha (Saurer) in 1956, the same day he received his Navigator Wings. He served five years as a Navigator and a Radar Intercept Officer flight line instructor. He returned to Springfield and worked for the U.S. Postal Service (1959 - 1996). In addition to his wife of nearly 67 years, the joys of his life were his two daughters Carolyn Devine (Harry) of Hershey, PA and Joanne Ferguson (Michael) of Little Silver, NJ, six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Ron and Martha traveled extensively and independently in the US and abroad including to Europe, Australia, Japan, and South Africa. Locally, Ron loved to body-surf until age 80 at Misquamicut Beach, RI. He was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church, Springfield, MA for over 60 years, and of St. Joan of Arc Church, since relocating to Hershey, PA in 2017. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Foley and Phyllis Kiernan, and brother Alfred. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 14th at 11:30am in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey. Visitation will begin at 10:30am in the church. Private interment with military honors will be at a later date at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, PA. Please omit flowers. Dolores A. Rossi, 89, of Hershey died Monday, October 24, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 24, 1933 in Hershey to the late Salvador and Marion Bilotta. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Hershey.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Albert J. Rossi, and her son Aaron. She is survived by her children, Albert Rossi II (Phyllis), Andrew Rossi (Revena), Allan Rossi (Carol), Alice (Thomas) Cooper, and Adam Rossi; her grandchildren Molly Cooper Wilson, Adam Cooper, Sarah Rossi, Lily Rossi, and Ryann Rossi; two great-grandchildren, Raegan Cooper and Cooper Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. in St Joan of Arc Church on Monday, October 31, 2022 followed by inurnment at the Hershey Cemetery.
