Mary A. Bryan, 95, of Hershey, passed away on June 15, 2018 in the Gardens at Campbelltown.
She was born December 10, 1922 in Dudley, PA, daughter of the late Emidio and Catherine (Guyer) Pizzingrilli. Mrs. Bryan retired from Reese's Candy Co. and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church and their Areba Club. Mary is survived by: grandson, Douglas Gibson and his wife Noemi; great granddaughters Kelsey and Kendra; sister, Joan Godshall; and son-in-law, Lloyd Lingle; several nephews, a niece and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, Amber Bryan; son, John P. Bryan; daughter, Constance M. Lingle; grandson, Jeffrey Gibson; sister, Theresa B. Pizzingrilli; and brothers, Francis & Jack Pizzingrilli. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 2PM in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 88 Lucy Ave., Hershey. Anthony A. Ferrar, 93, of Hershey, died Monday June 11, 2018. He was born July 17, 1924 in Harrisburg, son of the late Minnie (Bria) and Albert Ferrar.
Anthony graduated from John Harris High School Class of 1942 and retired from the Penna Bureau of Aviation, at Harrisburg International Airport. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey. Mr. Ferrar was both a WWII and Korea War Veteran. He served as an Army Air Corps pilot during WWII and as a US Air Force pilot and multi-engine pilot during the Korean War earning several awards; including two Air Medals. He married his high school sweetheart, Vivian Swartz, and they were together for 65 years until her death in 2010….. And what a beautiful love story they had! He is survived by his granddaughter Kelly Ferrar Palumbo and her 3 children, Jillian, Michael and Brooklyn; granddaughter, Cris Ferrar Messler and her children Peter, Sam and Ava. He was preceded in death by his son Terry in 1999. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 18th, at 11AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. She was born October 2, 1929 in Hershey, daughter of the late Sebastian and Emeila (DeCaroli) Pichini. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood (Woody) Landis and her second husband Francis Coyle; sister Angelina DeCaroli, and brothers, Pat DeCaroli, Mario Pichini, Ralph Pichini, Maggio Pichini and Marino Pichini. Millie is survived by her son, Charles (Sandy) Landis of Austin, TX, daughters, Pamela (Ben) Alger of Hershey and Patricia (Jesse) Landis of Mount Joy and five grandchildren Jason (Katie) Landis of Carlisle, Kristin (Ryan) Harvey of Austin, TX, Jennifer Alger of Mount Joy, Megan Landis of Downingtown, Jonathan Alger of Palmyra and one great-grandchild, Erika Landis of Carlisle. Millie graduated from Hershey High School and continued her education at Hershey Junior College. Millie later graduated with a Masters in Humanities from Penn State Harrisburg where she worked and retired as Registrar in 1994. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and was involved in many church activities including the Legion of Mary and was a former cub scout and girl scout leader. She was also active in the Derry Township Historical Society, the Hershey Library and a contributor to the Hershey Museum, and later the Hershey Story. She wrote historical articles for several local papers, gave presentations about Milton Hershey, co‑authored books, did an extensive history of Italian immigrants and Swatara Station. She received many awards from various organizations for her outstanding volunteer work. During her retirement she enjoyed knitting, baking, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. A visitation will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 from 6:00 pm ‑ 8:00 pm, in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Hershey. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 5:30PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 10:30am in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will follow in the Hershey Cemetery. Family always came first with Phyllis. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she especially loved her great-grandchildren. Phyllis was an accomplished cook and baker. Her family craved her Sunday dinners, which usually featured three types of homemade pasta, meatballs and sauce. She led a simple, God-fearing, family-loving life.
Phyllis was very active in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Over the years she was a Girl Scout leader, kindergarten teacher and volunteer in the church office. She was active in the Areba Club and supported many other activities with her time and efforts. Her favorite activity in her later years was working at the church's annual flea market in the jewelry department. Phyllis is survived by her son Greg (Linda), granddaughters Erin (Jacob) Doan, Beth (Daniel) Shaughnessy, great-grandchildren Macy and Liam Shaughnessy and Luke Doan and her sister Carol(ine) Creech. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Gabriel, her parents, Nicoletta (Riggio) and Aldorino DiDomenico and her brother Nick DiDomenico. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, May 31st in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Hershey Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation. She was born November 8, 1935 in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Patrick and Sarah (Ward) Breslin. Sally spent much of her time raising her five daughters along with her late husband, Daniel J. Hagan who passed away in 2004. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed travel, walking, Irish dancing and spending time with family. Sally lived a fulfilling life as a mother, wife, sister, friend and most of all a loving "Nana". Mrs. Hagan is survived by: 5 daughters, Lynn (John) Worth of Spring Lake NC; Mary (Dave) Hewson of Hershey; Susan McGuire of Mountville; Patricia (Patrick) Seeley of Hummelstown; Karen (Dustin) Conrad of Elizabethtown; 10 Grandchildren; sister, Ann Marie McNally of Port St. Lucie, FL; 10 grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, and Lucas Worth; David and McKenzie Hewson, John Henry McGuire, Abigail and Hagan Seeley; and Logan and Jaycen Conrad. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Patrick Breslin and sister, Agnes O'Donnell. McCormick, 77, of Hershey, passed away on April 16, 2018.
He was born May 20, 1940 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, son of the late John and Henriette (Linossier) McCormick. John earned his Master's Degree in Food Science and had retired from Hershey Foods Tech Center where he was a chemical engineer. His memberships include of St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey where he was involved in the Little Rock Bible Study. He was also a member and founder of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineering. John is survived by his wife, Rosemary T. (Michaud) McCormick; sons, Martin of Hershey and Andrew (Jennifer) of Carlisle; daughters, Kathleen (George) Araujo of Long Island, NY and Maria (Viking) Huffman of Palmyra; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Margaret McCormick and Maureen Davidson; a brother, Jim McCormick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11AM in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Richard was a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Rosanne Morelli Claypoole, 64, of Hershey, passed away on February 27, 2018 in the M.S. Hershey
Medical Center. She was born August 28, 1953 in Hershey, daughter of the late Oswald and Helen (Cifani) Morelli. Rosanne was a graduate of Hershey High School and had retired from Hershey Foods. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey and enjoyed gardening, reading, cross stitching and her dogs Tucker and Haley. Rosanne is survived by: husband, William "Bill" Taylor Claypoole, Sr. of Hershey; daughters, Elizabeth Claypoole (Ryan Hazel) of Hershey and Emily Claypoole (Robert Lint) of Johnstown; sister, Jeanne Morelli of Hershey; a number of aunts and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in dea th by 3 brothers. In respecting Rosanne's wishes, there will be no visitation or viewing . She was born December 18, 1914 in Annville, daughter of the late Attanasio and Maria (DeDonattis) Pappariella. Mrs. Castelli was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She had worked as a clerk in the Purchasing Department of Hershey Foods. Julia is survived by; son, Dennis M. (and his wife, Mary Ann) Castelli of Chambersburg, daughter, Kathleen A. Castelli of Hershey; grandchildren: Mary Beth Oles (Mark) of Lancaster, Amy Leedy(Vince) of Denver, PA; great grandchildren: Julia and Paul Leedy, Luke and Mary Kate Oles; brother Aldo (and his wife Doris) Pappariella. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Dionisio Castelli; siblings Emma and Gabriel Pappariella and Stella Guyer. A visitation will be held in the Hoover Funeral Home of Hershey on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 9-10AM. Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated on at 10:30AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. Baiocchi, 92, of Hershey, passed away on February 15, 2018 in the M.S.Hershey Medical Center. She was born June 1, 1925 in Hershey, a daughter of the late Gaetano "Guy" and Ida (Sovani) Baiocchi.
She was a 1943 graduate of Hershey High School and retired from the Hershey Company after 43 years of service as a secretary. Jean was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church where she sang in the resurrection choir and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women. She was an avid Hershey Bears fan and season ticket holder and enjoyed reading. Surviving is her brother, Richard (Norma) Baiocchi of Hershey and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Baiocchi and Amelia Sostaric. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 21st at 11:00am in her church with interment following in the Hershey Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30AM 11:00AM on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Joan of Arc Church, 359 West Areba Ave. Hershey, PA 17033. |
